My wife have a hemorrhoid that keep bleeding, is this regular?

I suggested she take a warm hip bath with some salt. This have been going on for days now! I conjecture her hem burst and it's irritated. Good advice or help would be appreciated. If it persist she should see a doctor? Also told her she needs more fiber and water within her diet. She is 53.
