Do hemorrhoids ever dance away on their own?

I'm 16 years old and I have external hemorrhoids. I get them from constipation because I don't eat very resourcefully. They don't ever hurt and are pretty small but I don't like having them, it looks gross. They aren't especially big, I bought the Preparation H ointment yesterday, does that work well? I didn't really know what to buy because I don't requirement anything for relief as they don't cause me any discomfort, I want something to shrink them.

Will I have need of surgery for my hemorrhoids to go away forever? Can they go away on their own if I start drinking more fruits and vegetables? If so, how long can it take for them to be gone?
